Lorraine’s began as a simple vision in 1997, when Peter and Lorraine returned from New York and settled permanently in Kefalonia, creating a small beach bar on the shores of Lourdas Beach. From the very beginning, it was about more than food and drink, it was about warmth, atmosphere, and making people feel at home by the sea.

A few years later, they decided to open Lorraine’s Restaurant on the hillside above the beach. Separate from the beach bar, it carried the same spirit, offering beautiful views and thoughtful cuisine, centered around farm-sourced ingredients and seasonal vegetables from our garden. 

Over time, the Lorraine’s experience grew beyond dining. A collection of charming cottages in nearby Simotata Village provided a peaceful retreat, ideal for those seeking comfort, privacy, and a deeper connection to the island.

Later, a collection of elegant suites was introduced beside the restaurant, allowing guests to stay just steps away and fully enjoy the surroundings. The beach bar, where it all began, also returned, bringing back its relaxed and easygoing atmosphere by the sea.

Today, everything comes together in harmony: the restaurant on the hillside, the beach bar by the water, and the suites that connect the two. Lorraine’s remains a family-run destination, shaped by care and genuine hospitality.
